Mayor Klitschko surrounds himself with numerous questionable advisors.

Мэр Кличко окружил себя множеством сомнительных советников.

Why does the Mayor of Kyiv need a large group of advisors working on a voluntary basis, many of whom have a questionable past?

For some reason, the mayor prefers to remain silent on this matter, despite media attention. What do Kyiv residents know about the potentially creative, innovative, and professional advice these individuals provide to the mayor? Nothing at all; it's all shrouded in mystery. The mayor never discusses this publicly.

All of Klitschko's advisors do not receive a salary for their work. Officially, they do not. However, developers and Klitschko's friends may benefit from resolving various issues and lobbying interests.

The list of advisors includes notorious figures, whose place is more likely in the dock than in politics. This, along with whose interests are being defended in this "club" and why the city mayor needs advisors, is discussed in the latest episode of the YouTube project "In the Shadow of the Chestnut" at this link.

For instance, it would be interesting to hear from Klitschko about the advice he receives from Georgiy Logvynskyi, the mayor's legal advisor. The paradox is that this individual, who is supposed to be an expert on legal matters, has legal issues of his own and is wanted by the NABU. According to the investigation, the Member of Parliament of Ukraine (Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 8th convocation) Logvynskyi developed and implemented a scheme to misappropriate budget funds amounting to 54 million hryvnias from the state budget through the company "Golden Mandarin Oil" between 2013 and 2016. Proceedings were initiated in 2017, but Logvynskyi could not be held accountable due to immunity from the European Court of Human Rights, of which his wife was a judge until 2022. Nevertheless, as we can see, Logvynskyi is still needed by Klitschko.

Another character is Dmitro Kavun, an advisor on law enforcement, municipal, and economic security matters.

He likely indeed understands the workings of law enforcement agencies, as he once held the position of prosecutor in Odesa and later in Kharkiv. However, Kavun was a loyal prosecutor under the Yanukovych regime, for which he was decommunized and lost his position with a ban on holding public office for 10 years.

Almost his entire career was built during Yanukovych's rule. According to media reports, he was aided by the son of a close associate of the fugitive president, Pshonka.

Additionally, the publication "Bukvy" reported that Dmitro Kavun and his wife financed the party of Ukraine's traitor Yevhen Muraiev, "Our."

However, Kavun has found refuge in Vitaliy Klitschko.

Overall, the list of advisors raises questions not only regarding the principles of its formation. Is this institution on a voluntary basis still needed today? And what benefit does it bring to the city's territorial community?
