A man has been issued a ruling for a knowingly false call

A resident of the Solomianskyi district decided to conduct a "stress test" on the capital's police and must now pay a fine for it.

“During a night patrol in the Solomianskyi district, a report of a murder came in on line 112. The police immediately arrived at the specified address. The information was not confirmed. We spoke with the caller and found out that the man fabricated the incident to check how quickly the police would respond to his call,” – said the patrol police of Kyiv.

The law enforcement officers explained to the man that knowingly making a false call to emergency services entails administrative liability, and they issued a ruling against him under Article 183 (Knowingly false call to the police) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (КУпАП).

Now, the fabricator must pay a fine of 3,400 hryvnias.

“Remember: while someone is making a false call, the police could be helping those who truly need it,” – the police urge.
