Families of fallen servicemen are urging the city authorities to create a Memorial Alley for the fallen Heroes in the Sviyatoshynskyi district.

A corresponding petition has been registered on the Kyiv City Council website.

“We propose to establish a Memorial Alley on Academician Vernadskyi Boulevard. This is a busy yet peaceful location where stands can be set up with photographs, names, and short stories about each fallen hero. The alley should serve as a place to honor the memory of all who gave their lives for Ukraine, starting from 2014 — both during the full-scale invasion and throughout the ATO period,” wrote the initiative's authors.

According to the petition, previously, 20 trees and 11 bushes were planted on Heroes of Cosmos Street in memory of the fallen servicemen. However, these trees, as noted by the families of the fallen soldiers, lack plaques with the names of the Heroes.

At the same time, the petition authors pointed out that a Memorial Alley has already been established in the Shevchenkivskyi district, which can serve as an example of how to properly honor our Heroes.

“For us, the families of the fallen, it is important that the names of our loved ones are heard and remembered,” emphasized representatives of the families of the fallen Heroes.

It is worth noting that this year on Defender’s Day, celebrated on October 1, a solemn opening of the Memorial Alley for the Heroes-Defenders, who were residents of the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital, took place in Kyiv.
