The volume of foreign capital is decreasing in Ukraine
According to last year's results, Kyiv remained the top city for foreign entrepreneurs looking to start a business. The Lviv and Odesa regions ranked among the top three in this regard.

It is noted that nearly half of the new foreign companies registered last year were based in Kyiv — 542 (48.9%). In Lviv, 137 companies (12.4%) established themselves, while in Odesa, there were 122 (11%). In total, during 2024, foreign nationals opened 1,109 new companies in Ukraine, which is a 24 percent decrease compared to 2023. Compared to 2021, the number of such businesses has dropped by 60 percent.
Foreign companies are most commonly engaged in wholesale trade (255 firms, 23%), computer programming (109 companies, 9.8%), and real estate operations (86 companies, 7.8%).
As a reminder, in Ukraine 184 companies are under the sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council, with the highest number located in Kyiv, Odesa, and Lviv.
