The military expresses gratitude to volunteers for their invaluable assistance
Today, December 5, Ukraine celebrates International Volunteer Day.
In a message of congratulations and thanks to those supporting the Defense Forces, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi addressed the public on his Telegram channel.
“It is symbolic that this date is marked in the calendar alongside the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Just as hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian volunteers stood shoulder to shoulder with our soldiers at the beginning of the war in 2014, this spirit has only strengthened and expanded to counter the large-scale armed aggression of Russia,” he wrote.
As Syrskyi notes, the current Ukrainian volunteer movement in support of the Armed Forces is, without exaggeration, the most powerful in the world. Guided by the principle of “either you are in the military or you are for the military,” Ukrainian volunteers provide invaluable assistance to the troops.
“Every soldier and every unit feels the warmth of your hands and your selflessness. The Ukrainian army is steadfastly repelling the onslaught of the enemy, who outnumbers us in personnel, weaponry, and resources, and our resilience would be impossible without volunteer contributions, drones, vehicles, first aid kits, trench candles, and countless other expressions of support and care. I am sincerely grateful to every volunteer for their hard work and sacrifice. I wish you and your families strength and health. Together we will prevail!” – congratulated the volunteers the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
