Initially, WP correspondent Michael Birnbaum stated that he was standing by the West Wing, where Zelensky's armored SUV stopped, waiting for the leaders' meeting to conclude without a press conference.

Later, another WP correspondent, Natalie Allison, citing an unnamed official, confirmed that the White House canceled the planned joint press conference.

According to the publication, Trump asked Zelensky to leave the White House after a tense meeting in the Oval Office.

Recall that Vladimir Zelensky, in front of the cameras, argued with his American counterpart Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Vance stated that the war between Russia and Ukraine should be resolved through diplomacy. In response, the Ukrainian president mentioned that he had already signed an agreement with Putin, in the presence of the President of France and the Chancellor of Germany.

Zelensky also stated that if a poor agreement is signed between Russia and Ukraine, the United States "will feel it." Vance and Trump expressed their outrage, responding that they would be "just fine," and added that Zelensky had no right to impose his opinion.

Following this, Trump stated that Zelensky "is not ready for peace", but added that he "can come back" when he changes his mind.
