Trump promised Canadian citizens tax reductions if their country joins the United States.

He wrote about this on his social media platform Truth Social.

“Taxes for citizens are too high, but if Canada became our 51st state, their taxes would be cut by more than 60%, their business would immediately double, and they would have military protection like no other country in the world,” Trump stated.

Additionally, he once again mentioned Greenland, which is under Danish administration. He claimed that the United States needs Greenland for national security purposes. Furthermore, he asserted that the island's inhabitants themselves wish to be under U.S. jurisdiction.

“And we will be there!” Trump declared.

He also stated that the U.S. has invested billions of dollars in the maintenance of the Panama Canal, but it is being run “with love, but illegally” by “wonderful soldiers from China.”

It is worth noting that the U.S. took on the project of constructing the Panama Canal, which began operations in 1914. Over 75,000 workers were involved in the construction, with at least 27,500 of them losing their lives due to landslides and epidemics.

In 1977, President Jimmy Carter negotiated to grant Panama partial control over the canal. However, overall control remained until 1999.
