Russia launched an attack on Ukraine with over a hundred drones, while air defense successfully shot down 88 of them.

On the night of November 29, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 132 Shahed strike drones and unmanned aerial vehicles of unspecified types. The air defense system successfully intercepted 88 enemy targets.

This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The drones were launched by the Russians from the regions of Oryol, Millerovo, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the RF. The aerial attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare means, and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defense Forces.

As of 9:00 AM, the Air Forces confirmed the downing of 88 drones in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions.

An additional 41 drones were lost to location—presumably due to active electronic warfare countermeasures. One more drone returned to Russia.

Consequences of the Attack

Due to shelling in several regions of Ukraine, infrastructure, vehicles, private homes, and apartment buildings have been damaged, and assistance is being provided to the affected individuals.

In Kyiv, debris from a downed drone caused a fire at a medical facility in the Dniprovskyi district. One person was injured.
