Additionally, the "Ramstein" meeting will address long-term solutions: expanding defense production in Ukraine, funding for the Ukrainian defense industry, and establishing new enterprises, as well as increasing the volume of arms supplies through European defense capacities.
Umerov will also hold a series of bilateral meetings with defense ministers from allied countries.
“The main goal is to strengthen military cooperation and establish effective mechanisms for supporting Ukraine. Ukraine is ready for negotiations to end the war. However, a just and lasting peace is only possible when Ukraine is strong on the battlefield,” noted Umerov.
The previous, 25th meeting of "Ramstein" took place on January 9, before the change in U.S. administration. The then U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated that the new White House administration would make decisions regarding the future of the Contact Group will be made by the new White House administration.
President Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned that after Donald Trump takes office as U.S. president, meetings in the "Ramstein" format will continue. However, the media reported that the chairmanship of "Ramstein" would be taken over by the United Kingdom instead of the U.S.
