A million per year and zero-interest mortgages: The Ministry of Defense reveals details of the contract for volunteers aged 18-24.

This is mentioned in a statement by the ministry on Facebook.

Young volunteers are guaranteed a one-time payment of 1 million hryvnias, with an immediate payout of 200,000 hryvnias, while the remaining 800,000 will be disbursed in two installments during the contract period.

Additionally, volunteers will receive up to 120,000 hryvnias monthly, along with bonuses for combat missions. Overall, they can expect to earn 2 million hryvnias annually.

Volunteers are also promised a mortgage at 0.0% interest under the "eOselya" program after the contract ends, compensation for housing rental during service, free medical care, and dental services.

They will also have the right to free transportation and utility benefits, state-funded education upon completion of the contract, and the possibility to travel abroad after one year of service.

Those who sign the contract will be guaranteed the opportunity to choose their location for the military medical commission and select their unit and specialty.

After the contract ends, volunteers can either continue their service or return to civilian life.

Applications can be submitted on the website 18-24.army.gov.ua or through the "Reserve+" app with the next update.

What preceded this?

In the internal stability plan by President Volodymyr Zelensky, the second point regarding the front outlines a change in management approaches within the army.

According to this, military leadership is to present a new contract system for citizens who have not yet reached the mobilization age. The President stated that this way, individuals who cannot be mobilized by law yet will have the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities. Their contracts will include motivational components.

At the end of January, Deputy Head of the President's Office Pavlo Palisa mentioned that the reform for recruiting individuals under 25 is in the final stages of development. It supposedly includes financial incentives, clear guarantees for training, and measures to ensure dialogue between soldiers and their commanders.

In February, Zelensky emphasized that mobilization starting at 18 is not planned, confirming the introduction of special one-year contracts.
