This has been reported by Reuters and Associated Press.
Israel carried out an airstrike just hours after firing at "suspicious" vehicles that arrived in the southern region of Lebanon.
At the same time, the Lebanese state news agency reported that Israeli forces fired on civilians returning home after clashes. This was also stated by Hezbollah MP Hasan Fadlallah.
In Israel, it is insisted that the arrival of the vehicles was a violation of the ceasefire. Earlier, Israeli tanks shelled five towns and several agricultural fields in southern Lebanon, as reported by state media and Lebanese security sources. At least two injuries were reported.
Israel has urged residents of Lebanon not to return to the border area where its troops are stationed, extending the curfew. Israeli military officials also stated that they reserve the right to strike at Hezbollah if it violates the terms of the ceasefire.
The ceasefire agreement of November 27 ended a 14-month conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which began a day after Hamas's attack on October 7, 2023.
The Hezbollah group operating in southern Lebanon had been firing rockets and drones at Israel in solidarity with Hamas. Israel retaliated until mid-September of this year, when the conflict escalated into a full-scale war.
Now, under an agreement brokered by the United States and France, Hezbollah fighters are to withdraw north of the Litani River, while Israeli forces will return to Israeli territory. A buffer zone between them will be patrolled by Lebanese troops and UN peacekeepers.
A Lebanese military official, speaking anonymously, revealed that the Lebanese forces intend to gradually deploy in the south of the country as Israeli troops begin to retreat towards their border.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported on November 28 that as a result of Israeli strikes on Lebanon since October 2023, at least 3,961 people have died, and another 16,520 have been injured. However, this data does not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
At the same time, as a result of Hezbollah's strikes in northern Israel and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, 45 civilians have died. According to Israeli authorities, at least 73 Israeli soldiers have been killed in northern Israel, in the Golan Heights, and in battles in southern Lebanon.
